I spotted this beautiful silver CL600 this afternoon. As much as I like the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , it’s just not quite as good looking as the exceptionally plutocratic and elegant CL-Class. It would seem that the owner of this particular twelve-cylinder cruiser couldn’t limit themselves to just one fast Benz. As you can see, the vanity plates on the CL read “38 FLA”. Almost exactly a year ago, I saw a !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I’m willing to be it’s the same owner.

I definitely like this generation of CL more than the W220 CL. And while the W221 is my favorite S class, I really like the W222 coupe. It's too bad you can't get a new S600 coupe.

I have always loved the First Gen (what I used to call the Banana car) but where I live in Nashville, people are rich but not stupid rich(think Lexus/Mercedes/BMW with some occasional stupid super high end) . I’ve seen enough of the new ones now to like them just as much if not more. The hip bump, the front end, the headlights... they just all look so good.

Amen. I saw a CL600 once in Verde Brook Metallic with the big, chunky S600 ball polish aluminum look 5-spokes, and a designo brown leather interior like Jake’s S600 has. In other words, perfect.
And the best cars are totally worth their repair bills.

I saw a gold one with black wheels in Seattle a while back that looked incredible. It made my day.

You end up getting the pump done? Or just the accumulators?

I’ve never thought well about S-Class coupes, but then again I’ve driven only one (380 SEC was, I believe, the designation). Is the BMW 6 series a better car? I have no idea.

The CL/S coupes have an outstanding reputation, but so does the 6 series. I would say the 6 series is more of a sporty car while the Benz is a better long-distance cruiser.
